Immediate access appointments

Immediate Access Appointments are available for morning and afternoon to book from 8am on the day. These can be booked by calling 0116 2227272 (The lines do become very busy so please be persistent) or alternatively by coming into the surgery.

When an appointment is booked you will receive a text message advising you of your appointment date and time, please make a record of this information. We will attempt to send a reminder text message the day before your appointment, but please do not rely on this service to come to your booked appointment.

Routine Appointments

For a routine appointment please book via online access, the NHS App or by telephone  on 0116 2227272. Pre-bookable appointments are available both morning and afternoon these can usually be booked more than 7 days in advance.

We continually have pre-bookable appointments releasing into the system.  Please note each appointment is 10 minutes and 1 problem per appointment.

When an appointment is booked you will receive a text message advising you of your appointment date and time, please make a record of this information. We will attempt to send a reminder text message the day before your appointment, but please do not rely on this service to come to your booked appointment.

Booking Online

To do this simply ask at reception for details about obtaining a Username and Password for online access or complete the Online Access Registration form and return along with your proof of ID. We will activate access for you, then you will be able to log onto the system on a weekday morning at 8am to book an immediate access appointment. This system is fantastic to avoid queuing on the phone at 8am to get an appointment for today.

PLEASE NOTE: we will ask you for proof of identity - as more healthcare services become available online, your online password will give you aspects to information available in your confidential health record, so it is important we ensure it is YOU we are giving a password to.  It's really important you keep your password secure and confidential, too.  Treat it like your debit card/credit card PIN number.

PLEASE NOTE: It is NOT appropriate to book an appointment online with a GP for pill check/change, depo injection, BP check, other injections, health checks, Diabetes and Asthma reviews, travel vaccinations/advice etc. This is to be booked with the Nurse, a GP will not be able to see you.

When an appointment is booked you will receive a text message advising you of your appointment date and time, please make a record of this information. We will attempt to send a reminder text message the day before your appointment, but please do not rely on this service to come to your booked appointment.

Online Immediate Access

Whilst we make every effort to ensure that there is availability online immediate access slot on the day, this is not always possible due to factors beyond our control. If you have concerns about this, please speak to the Reception Manager, Julie Tannahill who will be able to advise you on availability of appointments

Telephone Consultations

If you require a telephone consultation, please contact the surgery on 0116 2227272 to arrange this.

Urgent Appointments

Urgent appointments are available after assessment by the nurse/on call doctor. Please telephone 0116 2227272 during opening hours. If you feel it is an emergency for that day you may be asked what the problem is, this will enable us to deal with your emergency and guide you to the appropriate Health Professional.

Late Attendance

Please ensure that you arrive on time for your appointment, as it is not always possible to fit you into the surgery at another time. If you are late you  may be asked to re-book your appointment. This decision will be made by the clinician.
