Repeat Prescriptions
If you have regular medication for a condition, that your doctor is aware of, you can periodically collect a repeat prescription from the practice without having to make an appointment.
Repeat prescription requests can be made by the following ways:
Online
Our practice has been enabled to take repeat prescriptions online. In order to make use of this facility, you must be registered as a patient with our practice. Only then can you register with this service. You can register with this practice/service by visiting De Montfort Surgery.
By Post or Fax or In Person
The right hand side of your last repeat prescription has a list of all medications. When you require a repeat prescription, tick the box for the medication required and either send it by post with a stamped, addressed envelope, or hand it in to reception.
As of Monday 21st February 2011 Prescriptions handed in on any given day will be ready 2 working days later. Please collect after 2pm.
Please note if you require the contraceptive pill you will be required to prebook an appointment with the nurse 2 weeks in advance where possible
If the item is not on repeat the prescription may take longer or you may be asked to see the Doctor to discuss your medication.
Medication Review
You may be due a medication review (this is often to be found at the bottom of your prescription copy) and in this case you will be asked to make an appointment with the doctor. Some medications are not prescribed on a repeat basis e.g. the oral contraceptive pill and some antidepressants. If this is the case, the receptionist will advise you to make an appointment with the doctor or nurse as reuqired.
Collection by a pharmacy
Please ensure you state the name and address of the chemist that you wish your prescription to be sent to if the pharmacy does not collect from the surgery please send a stamped addressed envelope with your request.
